When running ANY version of PSADT 4.1.x when passing a process to close to function Show-ADTInstallationWelcome, we are seeing an unhandled exception when running from MECM as SYSTEM (Installation Behavior = Install for System):

This error does not occur if running from MECM in USER context or running the same script outside of MECM, or if the process to close is not running.

Are you using some pre-release version of the module? None of the stack trace information is lining up with the code.

Can you please download this build in any case? - Remove some more double spacing found in C# document comments. · PSAppDeployToolkit/PSAppDeployToolkit@ce7b6bd · GitHub. If you get the same error, at least the code will line up with the main repository. It's also something we've potentially fixed, so confirmation on that would be good also if that's the case.

You'll only need to replace the PSAppDeployToolkit folder with one from the ZIP files, no changes to the script, etc are necessary.

This is a different exception, at least. Can you please check the Application event logs in Windows for any crashes from PSADT.ClientServer.Client.exe?

I'm sorry for the back and forward here. Whatever's going on here is a weird and isolated issue to do with your environment which is why I'm having to get you doing the testing.

Please try this build out: - This is PSAppDeployToolkit 4.1.6 · PSAppDeployToolkit/PSAppDeployToolkit@7586a14 · GitHub. Rather than assuming only reading of client responses can fail, it validates that sending the command to the client doesn't fail either, and will therefore give us a more descriptive error.

It's not going to fix the problem, but it should hopefully point us in the right direction as to what's going on here.
